Scale
- 400 grams Turkish sucuk sausage, casing removed
- 2 puff pastry sheets, about 500 grams total
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sucuk sausage with black pepper and paprika until evenly mixed.
- Place puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet in half lengthwise.
- Divide the sausage mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a log along one edge of each pastry strip.
- Roll the pastry tightly around the filling and seal the edge firmly. Place seam side down and slice each roll into smaller pieces.
- Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Keep puff pastry cold before baking for better rise and flakiness.
- Do not overfill to prevent splitting during baking.
- Chill assembled rolls for 10 minutes before baking for extra puff.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for best texture.
