Description

Warm, chewy soft pretzel bites with a golden crust and lightly salted top. Perfect for dipping, sharing, and enjoying fresh from the oven.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes until slightly puffed.
  5. Divide dough into ropes and cut into bite sized pieces.
  6. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully add baking soda.
  7. Boil pretzel bites in batches for 20 to 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until deep golden brown.
  9. Brush with melted butter if desired and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
