Description

Crisp, garlicky, and bursting with flavor, this sautéed broccoli is a quick and healthy side that complements any meal. It’s tender with a slight char and finished with a touch of lemon for brightness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Place your skillet over medium-high heat and allow it to get hot.
  2. Toss broccoli florets with olive oil, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet and swirl to coat the surface.
  4. Add the broccoli in a single layer, cut side down. Sear undisturbed for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Flip the broccoli and cook for another 2 minutes. Add garlic and water, then cover for 1 minute to steam.
  6. Remove lid, stir, and drizzle with lemon juice. Let cook uncovered for 1 more minute.
  7. Serve warm immediately as a side or main dish.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan to allow for proper browning.
  • Add garlic later in cooking to avoid burning.
  • Use lemon zest for an extra pop of flavor.
