- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 can crushed tomatoes, 28 ounces
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook penne in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes and cook 1 minute.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer 10 to 12 minutes.
- Add heavy cream and simmer 3 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add cooked penne to the sauce and toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water as needed.
- Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Salt pasta water generously for better flavor.
- Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce texture.
- Simmer sauce gently for best depth.
- Reheat with a splash of water or cream.
