Description

A comforting one-pot pasta dish with ground beef, rich marinara sauce, tender lasagna noodles, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Ground Beef: 1 pound
  • Onion, diced: 1 medium
  • Garlic, minced: 3 cloves
  • Marinara Sauce: 4 cups
  • Water: 2 cups
  • Lasagna Noodles, broken into pieces: 8 ounces
  • Ricotta Cheese: 1 cup
  • Mozzarella Cheese, shredded: 1 1/2 cups
  • Parmesan Cheese, grated: 1/4 cup
  • Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Italian Seasoning: 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Heat a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add olive oil and sauté diced onion until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook briefly. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Drain excess fat if needed, leaving flavorful bits in the pot.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and water. Add broken lasagna noodles and press them into the liquid.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for 15 to 18 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  6. Dollop ricotta over the pasta, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top. Cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving, then spoon into bowls and serve warm.

Notes

  • Stir occasionally to prevent noodles from sticking to the bottom.
  • If sauce thickens too much, add a splash of water and stir gently.
  • Use high-quality marinara for deeper flavor.
  • Let the dish rest briefly before serving to allow it to thicken.
