Description

Crisp nutty chocolate biscotti dipped in dark chocolate and topped with crushed peppermint for a festive holiday treat perfect with coffee.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 cup chopped almonds or pecans
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Mix melted butter and sugar in another bowl. Add eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry and wet ingredients and fold in chopped nuts.
  5. Shape dough into a 10 inch log on baking sheet.
  6. Bake 25 minutes until firm. Cool 10 minutes.
  7. Slice into 1/2 inch pieces and bake 8 minutes per side until crisp.
  8. Melt chocolate, dip ends, sprinkle with crushed peppermint, and let set.
