Description

Soft, creamy, and perfectly sweet, these Melt-in-Your-Mouth Butter Mints are a nostalgic treat that dissolve instantly on your tongue. Their pastel colors and buttery peppermint flavor make them perfect for parties, weddings, or simple afternoon indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Few drops gel food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy and smooth.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until fully combined.
  3. Stir in the peppermint extract, heavy cream, and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. If desired, divide the dough and tint each portion with food coloring.
  5. Knead gently until smooth, then roll into thin ropes about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Cut into small pieces and place on parchment paper.
  7. Let dry at room temperature for 12–24 hours until firm on the outside and soft inside.
  8. Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use vegan butter and non-dairy cream for a dairy-free version.
  • For pastel shades, add only a drop or two of coloring.
  • Ensure mints are fully dry before storing to avoid stickiness.
  • They can be made days in advance and stored in airtight tins or jars.
