Ingredients

  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add black tea bags, cinnamon stick, ground ginger, and cloves. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, stir in honey or sugar, strain, and let cool completely.
  4. In a small bowl combine heavy cream, milk, powdered sugar, and ground cardamom. Froth until thick and airy.
  5. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  6. Pour cooled chai over ice.
  7. Top with cardamom cold foam.
  8. Serve immediately.
