Description

A golden baked stromboli filled with layers of melted mozzarella, Italian salami, ham, and pepperoni, rolled in soft pizza dough and served with marinara sauce for dipping. Crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, it is perfect for weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 thin slices Italian salami
  • 12 thin slices ham
  • 20 slices pepperoni
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix Italian seasoning with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll pizza dough into a 10 by 14 inch rectangle.
  4. Layer salami, ham, and pepperoni evenly over the dough, leaving a 1 inch border. Sprinkle the seasoned mozzarella evenly on top.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Seal the edges well and place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the top with the beaten egg and cut small slits along the top to allow steam to escape.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked through.
  8. Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Do not overfill the dough to prevent leaking during baking.
  • Let the stromboli rest before slicing to keep the layers intact.
  • Freshly shredded mozzarella melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for best texture.
