Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian rolls
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 6 slices American cheese
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Slice Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half in a greased baking dish.
- Layer half the cheese slices on the rolls, spread the beef mixture, then add the remaining cheese. Top with the other half of the rolls.
- Brush tops with melted butter, sprinkle sesame seeds, and cover with foil.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then uncover and bake another 5 minutes until golden.
- Let rest 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
Notes
- Drain beef well to prevent soggy rolls.
- Lightly toast bottom rolls before layering for extra sturdiness.
- For more flavor, brush with garlic butter instead of plain butter.
