Description

A fresh and elegant hasselback caprese with sliced tomatoes layered with mozzarella and basil.


Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 225 grams fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice tomatoes hasselback style without cutting through.
  2. Cut mozzarella into thin slices.
  3. Tuck mozzarella and basil between tomato slices.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  5. Season lightly with salt and pepper and serve.

Notes

  • Use firm ripe tomatoes.
  • Assemble just before serving.
