Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Ground Beef or Lamb: 1 pound
  • Small Flour Tortillas: 8 pieces
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Dried Oregano: 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cumin: 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Tomatoes: 1 cup, diced
  • Red Onion: 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
  • Shredded Lettuce: 1 cup
  • Greek Yogurt: 1 cup
  • Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumber: 1/2 cup, finely diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat a large skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl mix ground meat, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly combined.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Lightly oil the hot skillet to prevent sticking.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Press a thin, even layer of seasoned meat directly onto one side of each tortilla.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Place tortillas meat side down into the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until browned and crispy. Flip and cook an additional 1 to 2 minutes until the tortilla is golden and crisp.
  6. Finishing Touches: In a small bowl mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and diced cucumber to create the sauce.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Top tacos with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced red onion, drizzle with yogurt sauce, fold, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Press the meat thinly for even cooking and better crisp texture.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet, cook in batches if necessary.
  • Prepare toppings before cooking for quick assembly.
  • Serve immediately for maximum crispiness.
