Description

A rich and creamy slow cooker hot chocolate made with real chocolate, cocoa powder, milk, and cream for the ultimate cozy winter drink.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Turn the slow cooker to low heat to gently warm the ingredients.
  2. In a bowl whisk the cocoa powder, sugar, and a small amount of milk until smooth.
  3. Pour the remaining milk and heavy cream into the slow cooker.
  4. Add the cocoa mixture, chocolate chips, and salt into the slow cooker and stir gently.
  5. Cover and cook on low for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally until the chocolate melts completely.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract once the drink becomes smooth and creamy.
  7. Ladle into mugs and serve warm.

Notes

  • Stir every 30 minutes to help the chocolate melt evenly.
  • If the drink becomes too thick add a splash of warm milk.
  • Top with whipped cream or marshmallows for extra indulgence.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently.
