- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Turn the slow cooker to low heat to gently warm the ingredients.
- In a bowl whisk the cocoa powder, sugar, and a small amount of milk until smooth.
- Pour the remaining milk and heavy cream into the slow cooker.
- Add the cocoa mixture, chocolate chips, and salt into the slow cooker and stir gently.
- Cover and cook on low for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally until the chocolate melts completely.
- Stir in the vanilla extract once the drink becomes smooth and creamy.
- Ladle into mugs and serve warm.
Notes
- Stir every 30 minutes to help the chocolate melt evenly.
- If the drink becomes too thick add a splash of warm milk.
- Top with whipped cream or marshmallows for extra indulgence.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently.
