Description

Thick-cut, golden crispy cottage fries with fluffy centers and seasoned to perfection. The ultimate comfort side dish, perfect for any meal or snack time.


Ingredients

  • 3 large Russet Potatoes, sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds
  • 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley, chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F if baking, or heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat if frying.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. For baking, line a sheet with parchment paper and arrange the slices in a single layer. For frying, test oil heat by dropping in a slice to check for sizzle.
  4. Place slices into the oil or on the tray, making sure they’re not overlapping.
  5. Fry for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. If baking, roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Sprinkle with extra salt and parsley while hot.
  7. Serve immediately with dips or alongside your favorite dishes.

  • Soaking the potatoes removes excess starch for better crispiness.
  • Use a mandoline for uniform slices.
  • Finish baked fries under the broiler for extra crunch.
