- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 pound ground beef, cooked and drained
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce, divided
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked ground beef, ricotta cheese, 1 cup shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, ½ cup marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly incorporated.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and divide pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into an 8 inch circle.
- Spoon filling onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edges. Fold dough over to form a half moon shape and press edges together. Crimp with a fork to seal.
- Transfer to prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with olive oil.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Warm remaining ½ cup marinara sauce and serve on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Do not overfill to prevent leaks during baking.
- Make small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
- Allow filling to cool slightly before assembling for best texture.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for best crispness.
