Description

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter – 200 g, softened
  • Granulated sugar – 200 g
  • Eggs – 4 large, room temperature
  • All-purpose flour – 200 g
  • Baking powder – 2 teaspoons
  • Milk – 60 ml
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C and lightly grease a round cake pan.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool briefly in the pan, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
