Description

A warm and satisfying breakfast sandwich with melted Dutch cheese, fresh vegetables, and toasted bread, perfect for a quick morning meal or brunch.

Ingredients

  • Bread slices: 2 pieces, white or whole grain
  • Dutch cheese: 2 slices, thinly cut
  • Butter: 1 teaspoon
  • Lettuce: 2 small leaves
  • Tomato slices: 2-3 slices
  • Optional mustard or mayo: 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice. On the unbuttered side, layer Dutch cheese, lettuce, and tomato slices.
  3. Prepare the skillet with a small layer of butter or cooking spray.
  4. Assemble the sandwich with buttered sides facing out.
  5. Toast in skillet 2-3 minutes per side until bread is golden and cheese melts.
  6. Press slightly with spatula to bind sandwich and melt cheese evenly.
  7. Slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a lid while cooking to help cheese melt faster.
  • Let tomatoes drain for a minute to prevent soggy bread.
  • Slice cheese thinly for quick, even melting.
  • Toast bread lightly for crisp exterior and soft interior.
