- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 hamburger buns, lightly toasted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F if melting cheese in the oven.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onions are softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Drain excess grease from the skillet if needed.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper.
- Return the cooked bacon to the skillet and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom halves of toasted buns and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Place in the oven for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Add the top buns and serve warm.
