Description

Tater Tot Pizza Casserole is the ultimate comfort food mashup! Combining the cheesy, savory flavors of a classic pizza with the crispy, golden goodness of tater tots, this dish is an easy weeknight winner packed with flavor and fun.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 cup (240ml) pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, and pizza sauce. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the beef mixture.
  6. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  7. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella over the tater tots. Top with pepperoni slices, and optional olives, bell pepper, and red onion if using.
  8. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until the tots are crispy and golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Customize toppings just like a pizza—mushrooms, sausage, or jalapeños work great!
  • Swap mozzarella for a pizza blend or provolone for extra flavor.
  • This dish is also great for prepping ahead and reheating leftovers.
