- 10 slices yellow American cheese
- 1/3 cup milk

- Pickled jalapeños (garnish)
- Scallions (garnish)
- Taco Bell hot sauce of choice (garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes while prepping the ingredients.
- Place the sliced potatoes in a bowl, wash and drain them. Drizzle with oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat.
- Air fry the potatoes at 380°F (193°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add smoked paprika, taco seasoning, and cumin. Cook for 30 seconds.
- Lower the heat and add milk, followed by the cheese slices. Stir until fully melted into a velvety sauce. Turn off heat and set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, taco seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Transfer the cooked fries to a bowl and sprinkle the seasoning mix over them. Toss to coat evenly.
- Place the seasoned fries in a serving bowl. Drizzle with the warm cheese sauce.
- Top with sour cream, pickled jalapeños, scallions, and Taco Bell hot sauce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- You can bake or deep fry the potatoes if you don’t have an air fryer.
- For a spicier cheese sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or diced jalapeños.
- Velveeta can be used in place of American cheese for extra creaminess.
- Reheat cheese sauce gently on the stovetop with a splash of milk if it thickens too much.
