Description

These Strawberry & Cream Cinnamon Rolls are a delightful twist on the classic treat. Soft, fluffy rolls are filled with a sweet strawberry filling, topped with a creamy glaze, and perfect for breakfast or dessert.

 


Ingredients

For the Dough:

2 3/4 cups (345g) all-purpose flour

1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

1 tsp salt

2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) instant yeast

1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk, warmed

1/4 cup (60ml) water, warmed

1 large egg

1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened

For the Strawberry Filling:

1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, finely chopped

1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp lemon juice

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup (120g) powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp milk


Instructions

  1. 1. Make the Dough:
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  3. Add warm milk, warm water, egg, and softened butter. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. 2. Prepare the Strawberry Filling:
  7. In a saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let it cool.
  8. 3. Assemble the Rolls:
  9. Roll the dough into a 12×9-inch rectangle.
  10. Spread the strawberry filling evenly over the dough.
  11. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 9-12 even slices.
  12. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  13. 4. Bake:
  14. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  15. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  16. 5. Make the Cream Cheese Glaze:
  17. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until creamy.
  18. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.

Notes

For a stronger strawberry flavor, add a few drops of strawberry extract to the filling.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving.
