Description
Golden, flaky puff pastry parcels filled with creamy tuna, melted mozzarella, and a gentle kick of chili, baked until perfectly crisp and irresistibly savory.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans tuna, about 160 grams each, drained well
- 120 grams cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, about 100 grams
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, chili flakes, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mash and mix until smooth and evenly blended.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and unfold the thawed puff pastry sheets. Cut each sheet into four equal squares.
- Place a heaping tablespoon of filling in the center of each square. Fold into rectangles or triangles and press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
- Arrange parcels on the prepared tray and brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
- Do not overfill the pastry to prevent leaks during baking.
- Chill assembled parcels for 10 minutes before baking to help maintain their shape.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 8 minutes to restore crispness.
