Description

This Spicy Linguine with Clams and Shrimp is a coastal-inspired pasta dish that brings together briny clams, tender shrimp, and a touch of chili heat. Each bite bursts with garlic, olive oil, and lemon freshness for a restaurant-quality meal that’s ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Linguine: 12 ounces
  • Clams: 1 pound, fresh and scrubbed
  • Shrimp: ½ pound, peeled and deveined
  • Olive Oil: 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Red Pepper Flakes: ½ teaspoon
  • White Wine or Seafood Stock: ½ cup
  • Lemon Juice: 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh Parsley: ¼ cup, chopped
  • Salt and Pepper: to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine until just shy of al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add red pepper flakes.
  3. Add clams and wine or stock. Cover and cook until clams open, about 5–7 minutes. Discard any that remain closed.
  4. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink, about 2 minutes per side.
  5. Drain pasta, reserving 1 cup of pasta water. Toss linguine with the seafood mixture, adding pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot with a drizzle of olive oil and extra chili flakes if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh seafood for the best flavor and texture.
  • Don’t overcook shrimp—they cook quickly.
  • Reserve pasta water to create a silky sauce.
  • Finish with high-quality olive oil for extra richness.
