Description

Juicy, tender smoked turkey breast seasoned simply and slow-cooked to perfection for a flavorful, smoky main dish that works for holidays or easy meal prep.

Ingredients

  • Turkey breast, 3 pounds, boneless and skin-on
  • Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Salt, 2 teaspoons
  • Black pepper, 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder, 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika, 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder, 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the smoker to 225°F and prepare wood chips according to the manufacturer instructions.
  2. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder until fully mixed.
  3. Lightly oil the smoker grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the turkey breast, coating all sides.
  5. Place the turkey breast in the smoker and cook for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Remove the turkey from the smoker and loosely tent with foil.
  7. Let rest for 15 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer for best results.
  • Letting the turkey rest is essential for juicy slices.
  • Mild wood like apple or hickory works best.
