Description

A sweet, spicy, and garlicky chicken pita that’s quick to make and full of bold flavor. Juicy honey-glazed chicken wrapped in warm pita with crunchy lettuce, onions, and herbs for a perfect balance of texture and taste.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Add chicken thighs and toss to coat. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle with a little oil.
  3. Cook chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Pour leftover marinade into the pan and let it thicken into a sticky glaze.
  5. Warm pita breads slightly on a dry pan or in the oven.
  6. Assemble the pita by layering lettuce, onions, and glazed chicken.
  7. Drizzle with a bit more honey if desired, garnish with herbs, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more chili flakes or a dash of sriracha.
  • Use chicken breast for a leaner option.
  • Leftover chicken works great in rice bowls or wraps.
