Description

Ingredients

  • 1 Ribeye Steak (1216 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, lightly crushed
  • 1 sprig Fresh Rosemary
  • 1 sprig Fresh Thyme


Instructions

  1. Preheat your cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it’s almost smoking.
  2. Pat the ribeye dry, then rub with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the steak into the hot skillet carefully and sear one side for 3–4 minutes without moving it.
  4. Flip the steak and add butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet.
  5. Tilt the pan slightly and spoon the melted butter over the steak for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Check the internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare), then remove from the pan.
  7. Let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving with the pan butter.

Notes

  • Let the steak come to room temperature before cooking for even doneness.
  • Use a cast-iron skillet for the best sear.
  • Always let your steak rest before slicing to keep it juicy.
