- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups gruyere cheese, grated
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly butter a medium baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Arrange a thin layer of sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.
- Spoon some of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Repeat layering potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese until all ingredients are used.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for 25 minutes until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
