Description

A fun twist on two classics, these Pepperoni Pizza Sloppy Joes combine all the cheesy, saucy goodness of pizza with the comforting heartiness of a Sloppy Joe. Perfect for quick dinners, game nights, or casual get-togethers.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 toasted burger buns


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  4. Drain excess fat, then stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  5. Stir in chopped pepperoni and mix well.
  6. Reduce heat to low, add mozzarella and provolone cheese, and stir until melted.
  7. Spoon the filling onto toasted burger buns and serve hot.

  • Toast the buns to prevent sogginess.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting and texture.
