Scale
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 10 Oreo cookies, chopped
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the cream cheese, butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Add the flour and continue mixing just until incorporated.
- Gently fold in the chopped Oreos.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until firm.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
- Roll the chilled dough into small balls and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
- Press each dough ball down slightly, as the cookies won’t spread much.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottom.
- Transfer cookies to a cooling rack and allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For best flavor, use full-fat cream cheese.
- Don’t skip the chilling time; it helps the cookies hold their shape.
- You can substitute Oreo flavors for variety—try mint or golden Oreos.
