Description

This One-Pot Cheeseburger Orzo is a creamy, cheesy, beefy comfort dish that brings together all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in one easy skillet meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 small Yellow Onion, diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Orzo Pasta
  • 2½ cups Beef Broth
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1½ cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ cup Milk or Heavy Cream
  • Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
  • Chopped Green Onions or Pickles, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add ground beef and diced onion. Cook until beef is browned and onion is soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Push meat to the side, add orzo and toast for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix everything together.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Add beef broth, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until orzo is tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Finishing Touches: Stir in cheddar cheese and milk. Let sit for 5 minutes to thicken. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Spoon into bowls and top with green onions or pickles if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for the best melting texture.
  • To reheat, add a splash of broth or milk to keep it creamy.
  • You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based options.
