Description

This Maple Mustard Croissant Breakfast Sandwich brings together buttery, flaky croissants, creamy eggs, melty cheese, and a sweet-tangy maple mustard sauce for a comforting yet elegant morning treat.

Ingredients

  • Croissants: 2 large, split in half
  • Eggs: 2 large, whisked
  • Maple syrup: 1 tablespoon
  • Dijon mustard: 1 tablespoon
  • Cheddar cheese: 2 slices
  • Butter: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt and pepper: to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional): chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Warm a skillet over medium-low heat and preheat the oven to 350°F if toasting the croissants.
  2. Whisk eggs, milk (optional), salt, and pepper in a small bowl until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, mix maple syrup and Dijon mustard until well combined.
  4. Melt butter in a skillet and cook the eggs gently until soft curds form. Remove while still glossy.
  5. Spread the maple mustard mixture on both sides of the croissant halves.
  6. Layer with cheese, scrambled eggs, and top with the other croissant half.
  7. Toast in the oven for 3–5 minutes until cheese melts and sandwich is warm.
  8. Sprinkle with herbs if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Toast the croissant halves first for extra crunch.
  • Use real maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven for the best texture.
  • Wrap sandwiches in parchment if preparing to-go.
