Scale
- 1 lb (450g) kielbasa sausage
- 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for greasing the pan)
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- Cut kielbasa into 1-inch slices, then make shallow horizontal cuts across each slice (about 3–4 cuts per piece), being careful not to cut all the way through.
- In a small bowl, mix barbecue sauce, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika until well combined.
- Place the kielbasa bites in the prepared baking dish. Brush generously with the maple BBQ sauce mixture, making sure it seeps into the cuts.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, basting with remaining sauce halfway through, until edges are crispy and caramelized.
- Remove from oven and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions, if desired. Serve warm with toothpicks.
Notes
- Use turkey kielbasa for a leaner option.
- For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
- Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven or air fryer.
