Description

Crispy Filipino lumpia filled with seasoned ground meat and vegetables, fried to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork or chicken
  • 1 medium carrot, finely grated
  • 1 cup green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 20 lumpia wrappers
  • About 2 cups cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat cooking oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, carrot, cabbage, garlic, onion, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Lay one wrapper flat in a diamond shape.
  4. Place 2 tablespoons filling near the bottom corner and roll tightly, folding sides inward and sealing with water.
  5. Fry rolls in batches for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Do not overfill to prevent bursting.
  • Maintain medium heat for even cooking.
  • Freeze uncooked rolls for future use.
