Description

Savory low carb sausage puffs made with ground sausage, cream cheese, cheddar, and almond flour. Golden on the outside, tender and cheesy inside, perfect for snacks or parties.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Mix until evenly combined but do not overmix.
  4. Scoop tablespoon sized portions and roll into small balls.
  5. Place sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even browning.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 7 minutes.
