Description

A creamy, spicy twist on classic deviled eggs, these Jalapeño Popper Deviled Eggs combine smooth yolks, tangy cream cheese, cheddar, and fresh jalapeños for the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 2 small jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Place eggs in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Peel eggs, slice in half lengthwise, and scoop out yolks. Mash yolks with cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Line a platter with lettuce leaves or herbs for presentation.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Spoon or pipe yolk mixture back into egg white halves.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Chill for 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Finishing Touches: Garnish with chopped chives and optional jalapeño slices.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Present on a platter and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use older eggs for easier peeling.
  • Finely mince jalapeños for even heat distribution.
  • For a polished look, pipe the filling with a decorative tip.
  • Mix filling ahead of time, but assemble closer to serving.
