- 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 brioche buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 tablespoons hot honey
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 12 pickle slices
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot.
- Divide the ground beef into four loose balls and season with salt and black pepper.
- Place the beef balls into the hot skillet and smash them flat with a metal spatula.
- Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until crispy, flip, and immediately add cheddar cheese.
- Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked through.
- Butter the brioche buns and toast them lightly in the skillet.
- Assemble the burgers with lettuce, pickles, smashed patties, and drizzle with hot honey.
- Serve immediately while hot and juicy.
Notes
- Only smash the patties once for the best crispy edges.
- Warm the hot honey slightly for easier drizzling.
