Description

A juicy smashed beef burger with crispy edges, melted cheddar, fresh lettuce, tangy pickles, and a sweet spicy hot honey drizzle, all tucked into a toasted brioche bun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons hot honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 12 pickle slices
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four loose balls and season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Place the beef balls into the hot skillet and smash them flat with a metal spatula.
  4. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until crispy, flip, and immediately add cheddar cheese.
  5. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked through.
  6. Butter the brioche buns and toast them lightly in the skillet.
  7. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, pickles, smashed patties, and drizzle with hot honey.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and juicy.

Notes

  • Only smash the patties once for the best crispy edges.
  • Warm the hot honey slightly for easier drizzling.
  • Serve right away for the best texture and flavor.
