- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples and lemon juice. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.

- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- This bread can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- For an extra touch, drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
- Feel free to add more spices or raisins for variation.
