- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 apple, peeled and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped apple, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, dried sage, dried thyme, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook the sausage patties for 5-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
- Serve the chicken apple sausage patties hot with your favorite sides or on a sandwich.
Notes
- If you prefer sweeter sausage, you can use a sweeter apple variety like Fuji or Gala.
- Feel free to adjust the seasoning to your taste, adding more spices if desired.
- You can also bake these patties at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
