Description

Rich, fudgy homemade brownies with a crackly top and deep chocolate flavor, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 oz (113 g) dark chocolate, chopped and melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and chopped chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, then whisk in granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until glossy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly soft. A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool in the pan before lifting out with parchment for clean slices.
  7. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the richest flavor.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep brownies tender.
  • For neat slices, chill brownies before cutting.
  • Brownies taste even better the next day as flavors develop.
