Description
Soft, fluffy chocolate nougat wrapped in a silky milk-chocolate shell, these homemade 3 Musketeers Bars melt on the tongue and bring pure nostalgia with every bite.
Ingredients
- Milk chocolate chips: 2 cups, divided
- Heavy cream: 1/3 cup
- Marshmallow creme: 1 cup
- Powdered sugar: 1/2 cup
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy lifting.
- Melt 1 cup milk chocolate chips with the heavy cream in a heatproof bowl set over gently simmering water, stirring until completely smooth. Let cool 2 to 3 minutes.
- Beat the melted chocolate mixture with the marshmallow creme and vanilla until light and fluffy. Sprinkle in the powdered sugar and mix just until smooth.
- Spread the nougat evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the top. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
- Lift the slab onto a cutting board and cut into 12 bars with a warm, sharp knife.
- Melt the remaining 1 cup milk chocolate chips until silky. Dip each bar to coat, letting excess drip off, and place on parchment to set.
- Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes until the chocolate is fully set, then enjoy.
Notes
- Note: Chill the nougat fully so bars hold their shape during dipping.
- For ultra-smooth coating, thin melted chocolate with 1 to 2 teaspoons neutral oil.
- Use a dipping fork or two forks to minimize fingerprints and ensure clean edges.
- Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt before the coating sets for a gourmet finish.
