Description

Chewy and indulgent fudgy oatmeal bars packed with rich chocolate and hearty oats, perfect for any snack or dessert craving


Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper
  2. In a mixing bowl, stir together oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda
  3. Melt butter and chocolate together gently, then mix in egg and vanilla extract
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until fully incorporated
  5. Press half of the oat mixture into the pan, spread half of the chocolate mixture on top, then layer remaining oat mixture and press gently
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until top is set and edges lightly golden
  7. Allow to cool completely in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing
  8. Slice into squares and enjoy

Notes

  • Use old-fashioned oats for the best chewy texture
  • Let bars cool completely before slicing for clean edges
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 2 months
