Description

A comforting and simple layered lasagna made with tender pasta sheets, rich marinara sauce, and creamy melted cheeses, perfect for busy nights or relaxed family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a medium baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by ricotta mixture, marinara sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with marinara sauce and the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on top.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Letting the lasagna rest helps the layers set for cleaner slices.
  • You can use oven ready lasagna noodles to save time.
  • For extra flavor, taste and adjust the marinara sauce seasoning before assembling.
