- 12 lasagna noodles
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a medium baking dish with olive oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the bottom of the baking dish.
- Add a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by ricotta mixture, marinara sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with marinara sauce and the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on top.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Letting the lasagna rest helps the layers set for cleaner slices.
- You can use oven ready lasagna noodles to save time.
- For extra flavor, taste and adjust the marinara sauce seasoning before assembling.
