Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Place a medium saucepan over medium heat to warm slightly before adding ingredients.
- Add sugar, honey, butter, and salt to the pan. Stir gently as the butter melts and ingredients combine.
- Clean the sides of the saucepan to prevent sugar crystals from forming.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously.
- Let the mixture simmer gently for 3–5 minutes until it thickens and becomes glossy.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Allow the syrup to cool slightly before transferring to a glass jar. Serve warm over pancakes, waffles, or toast.
Notes
- Stir constantly to avoid burning or graininess.
- Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
- If it becomes too thick, add a teaspoon of warm water and stir.
- Try adding cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth.
