Description

A luxurious yet comforting pasta dish featuring tender lobster tails tossed in a silky tomato cream sauce with Parmesan, fresh basil, and a hint of lemon zest.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium lobster tails (about 10 oz)
  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil for pasta.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Heat olive oil in a skillet, then sauté garlic and shallot until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, and seasonings, letting it simmer.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: While the sauce simmers, cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Stir heavy cream and Parmesan into the tomato sauce, letting it thicken slightly.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Add lobster pieces, cooking just until opaque and tender. Toss in drained pasta and a splash of pasta water to bring it all together.
  6. Finishing Touches: Stir in chopped basil and lemon zest for brightness. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Plate generously, sprinkle with extra Parmesan, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Reserve pasta water to help the sauce cling perfectly to the noodles.
  • Do not overcook lobster, it becomes tough quickly.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts smoother than pre-grated cheese.
