Flaky, buttery hand pies filled with rich, gooey chocolate! These delicious mini pastries are perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a sweet snack. Easy to make and perfect for Valentine’s Day or any chocolate lover!

- 1 package (2 sheets) store-bought pie crust (or homemade)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
- 1 tbsp melted butter (optional, for extra crispiness)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pie dough and use a round or heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
- Place a small spoonful of chocolate in the center of half of the cutouts.
- Brush the edges with a little water, then place another piece of dough on top. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and milk. Brush the tops of the pies with the egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
Notes
- Use puff pastry for a flakier texture.
- Add a pinch of sea salt or cinnamon to the chocolate for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
