Description
A spicy and tangy dish featuring tender chicken marinated in a zesty chili-lime sauce, perfect for grilling or pan-searing. This recipe combines the heat of chili with the freshness of lime for a deliciously bold flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon lime zest
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, lime zest, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or zip-lock bag and pour the marinade over the chicken. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1–2 hours.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Grill or cook the chicken for 6–7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove chicken from the heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a drizzle of extra lime juice or a sprinkle of chili flakes when serving.
- Serve with a side of rice, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.
- If you prefer a milder version, reduce or omit the cayenne pepper.
