Description

A flaky, golden pastry pie filled with a silky cream cheese layer and bright, juicy cherries. This easy yet bakery-worthy dessert delivers sweetness, creaminess, and tender fruit in every slice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet pie crust, store bought or homemade
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (about 21 ounces)
  • 1 tablespoon milk, for brushing
  • Powdered sugar, optional for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg until smooth and creamy.
  3. Line a pie dish with the first sheet of pie crust.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
  5. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cheese layer.
  6. Cover with the second crust or create a lattice top, then brush lightly with milk.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Chill the dough after assembling to help create a flakier texture.
  • Add lemon zest to the filling for extra brightness.
  • Tent the crust with foil if it browns too quickly.
