Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Cook beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, and salt. Cook for 8–10 minutes until browned and onions are softened. Drain excess fat if desired. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and cook 2 minutes more until absorbed.
- Transfer to pie plate: Spray a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick spray. Add the beef mixture to the plate and spread evenly.
- Prepare batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter. Add flour and baking powder, whisking until smooth.
- Assemble pie: Pour the batter over the meat in the pie plate. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake: Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
