- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup
- 1 (16 ounce) package frozen French fries
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until beef is no longer pink and onion is translucent.
- Drain excess grease, then season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
- Stir in the golden mushroom and Cheddar cheese soups until well blended. Heat through, then remove from heat.
- Transfer the beef mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Evenly cover the beef mixture with a layer of frozen French fries.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the fries are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the fries.
- Return to the oven and bake just until the cheese is melted. Serve hot.
