- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped dried apples (optional, for texture)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the heavy cream and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, and cook for 5 minutes, until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring to combine, until smooth.
- Fold in the applesauce and white chocolate chips until well combined. If using dried apples, fold them in at this point.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Once set, cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your sweet caramel apple fudge!
Notes
- This fudge can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
- For an extra touch, drizzle with more caramel sauce or sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
- If you don’t have dried apples, fresh diced apples can also work, but ensure they’re dried well to prevent moisture from affecting the fudge’s texture.
